This project required the class to use a singular letter form to create an interesting poster that would grab the attention of audience walking passed it while bringing attention to the Type Directors Club Exhibition being held.
The letter “Y” has many ways it could have been interpreted. In this expression, the letter y represents people praising the red dot of the Type Directors Club. The letter is broken into two pieces to help frame and bring attention to the main red dot.
The colour palette consist of 2 colours, black and red, to create high contrast and interesting pattern that works well with the already existing colours of the club.
Overall a simetrical layout helps create a sense of unity throughout the whole piece that is both inviting and interesting to look at.
